How We Work
This page outlines how we practice, the frameworks we follow and the goals we aim to achieve.
Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Aoraki 37 Resource Teachers: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) are a Te Tiriti led team. This means we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi by actively upholding its principles of partnership, protection, and participation in our daily practice.

We work in partnership to ensure that Māori voices, values, and aspirations shape the support provided to mokopuna.
We protect Māori language, culture, and identity by embedding culturally responsive practices, recognising te reo Māori as a taonga, and ensuring learning environments affirm Māori ways of knowing and being.
We promote participation by creating inclusive, equitable learning opportunities where Māori learners and their whānau are empowered to engage fully in decision-making.
Guiding our Practice
Our Practice Framework
He Pikorua

He Pikorua guides our practice so we can collaborate with kura, kaiako, whānau and other professionals to support mokopuna. We follow each stage of He Pikorua so that all support is evidence based and well planned. This ensures the mahi (work) of the collaborative team has a positive impact and there will be improved outcomes for mokopuna.
Other Frameworks
Te Tūāpapa
Te Tūāpapa is a robust evidence-informed approach. It provides a framework for identifying supports which increase in intensity, depending on the needs and the context. Information gathered about the strengths, needs and progress of mokopuna supports collaborative decision making.
Ka Hikitia Ka Hāpaitia
Sets out how we will work with education services to achieve system shifts in education and support Māori learners and their whānau, hapū and iwi to achieve excellent and equitable outcomes and provides an organising framework for the actions we will take.
He Urunga Tu
The He Urunga Tū - An Entrance to Engagement framework enables RTLB to be effective, inclusive, culturally responsive, and safe in their practice. It guides and supports RTLB to facilitate the process in a manner that is respectful and professional and maintains positive working relationships.
Our Implementation
Aoraki 37 have created documents to support the implementation of the above frameworks.
